Who We Are:

Sid Fendley

Owner/Chief Engineer

Sid has been the owner and chief engineer at Mountain Road Recording Studios since it was founded in 1997.  He is an audio engineer, keyboardist, recording artist, composer, and music director who has recorded and produced thousands of radio and TV commercials, audio books, documentaries, jingles, and music albums. In addition to performing solo and leading his own group, Sid plays with several local bands including Tracey Whitney Band, Tapestry, and Prisma. Sid also works part-time at National Dance Institute as an accompanist, is the music director and keyboardist at One Spiritual Center, and composes music for Mother Road Theatre Productions.

Tracey Whitney

A former “Raelette” with the legendary Ray Charles, Tracey Whitney’s musical history stretches back to age 11 where she made her debut as part of her family singing group, The Whitney Family. Tracey launched a solo career in L.A. at 22 before landing her role in Mr. Charles’ 1991 tour, followed by 5 years performing solo in Japan. Since relocating to Albuquerque in 2012, she’s been thrilling audiences throughout the city with her unique brand of classic jazz and sophisticated soul. In addition to concerts including The Santa Fe Bandstand, St John’s College “Music on the Hill,” the Route 66 Summerfest, the New Mexico Jazz workshop’s Women’s Voices and Ladies Sing The Blues concerts at the Albuquerque Museum, Tracey has opened concerts for contemporary jazz stars Marc Antoine, Euge Groove, Will Donato, Darren Rahn and Julian Vaughn. Under her Babydoll Entertainment label, she’s released three CD’s – with her third, “Live At The Outpost Performance Space” (May 2017), a New Mexico Music Awards nominee for “Best Vocal Performance”. She was also nominated for the ABQ-based Weekly Alibi’s 2017 “Best of the Burque Music Showcase.” She’s a voting member of the Los Angeles chapter of NARAS (the GRAMMY Awards), a contributing writer to Smooth Jazz magazine, and an Upper Merit graduate of the London-based The Voice College, with a Higher Certificate in Contemporary Vocal Teaching: Children & Adolescents.
